The alpaca farm
Since the beginning, the birdfarm büngerheide has also housed alpaca. The breeding animals come directly from Chile.
The alpaca (Lama pacos) is a domesticated form of camel that originated in the South American Andes. There are two types of alpaca, the Huacaya and the Suri. They differ in the structure of their fiber. The Huacaya alpaca is bred on the birdfarm büngerheide.
We are a member of the AAeV and the alpaka breeding association Germany eV.
Husbandry recommendations
After 12 years at birdfarm büngerheide, our herd is now 32 alpacas, 30 mares and 2 stallions. In the meantime, 50 animals have seen the light of day on the birdfarm, were raised by their mother and some are now proud members of the herd. We would like to share our experiences with the fascinating grazing animals, optimal husbandry, balanced nutrition and successful rearing with you.
